Nationale ACDA 2011 Konferenz: Gemischtes und Frauen Repertoire

Man stelle sich vor … eine Stadt, vier Tage, mehr als 150 Aussteller, 49 ‚unglaubliche’ Konferenz Veranstaltungen/Seminare, 25 Partitur Lesungen von Verlegern, 13 Konzert Veranstaltungen (viele mit jeweils drei Chören), 13 Chor-typische Partitur Lesungen, 13 Veranstaltungen am runden Tisch, 5 internationale Chöre, 4 Ehren-Chöre, 2 geistliche Veranstaltungen und mehr als 5.000 Chordirigenten. Wenn Sie sich das alles vorstellen können, dann werden Sie wahrscheinlich an der Konferenz der American Choral Directors Association ─ ACDA ─ (Amerikanische Gesellschaft von Chor Direktoren) ‚Voices in the Wind’ (Stimmen im Wind), in Chicago, Illinios Anfang März teilgenommen haben.
Die Gesamtzahl der präsentierten Partituren und Komponisten bei dieser Konferenz in sämtlichen oben erwähnten Veranstaltungen war einfach enorm. Weiter unten sind alle Partituren erwähnt, die in Abendkonzerten durch gemischte Gesangsensembles und durch reine Frauenchöre aufgeführt wurden. Eine Liste des reinen Männer Repertoire wird in einem zukünftigen ICB Repertoire Artikel über Männer Chor Musik erwähnt werden. Das Konzert-Repertoire der gemischten Stimmen bestand aus 76 Komponisten (70 Männer, 6 Frauen) aus 23 Ländern, einschließlich 24 Amerikaner, 8 Deutsche und 7 Komponisten aus den baltischen Ländern. Etwa 60% des Repertoires stammte von lebenden Komponisten. Das Konzert Repertoire der Frauenchöre bestand aus 67 Komponisten (52 Männer und 15 Frauen) aus 21 Ländern, einschließlich 25 Amerikanern und 9 Norwegern! Über 75% des Repertoires stammte von lebenden Komponisten. Die Texte der Konzert Partituren deckten eine Großzahl von verschiedenen Quellen ab, aber überraschenderweise nur eine kleine Anzahl von lebenden Poeten und auch nur eine ebenfalls kleine Anzahl von weiblichen Autoren (nur eine in den gemischten und 7 in den Frauenchören). Wer war der populärste Komponist? Johannes Brahms (7 Partituren). Jedoch die Tiefe des internationalen Repertoires war wohl das Beste, was ich je auf einer nationalen ACDA Konferenz erlebt habe und ich hoffe, dass wir auch in zukünftigen ACDA Konferenzen den Horizont unserer Chöre weiterhin vergrößern werden.
