Alejandro Iglesias Rossi
was born in 1960 in Buenos Aires, where he currently lives. He studied composition at the Catholic University of Argentina, the Boston Conservatory of Music, and the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. He has received First Prize of the International Rostrum of Composers, First Prize of the International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music, the Kazimierz Serocki Prize, the BMI Award, the TRINAC Prize, the Musikprotokoll Prize, the Nadia Boulanger Scholarship, the Honorary Prize of the Fondation de France, and the Prize of the City of Buenos Aires. He has been a member of the Jury at UNESCO's Prize of Honor and the World Music Days. His works have been performed at many contemporary music festivals (Berlin Biennale, Festival d'Orleans, Warsaw Autumn, Steirischer Herbst, Dresden Tage, World Music Days, Mexico's Foro de Musica Nueva, Spaziomusica, Festival de La Habana, etc).
